A SpaceX continua a inspeccionar o novo foguetão Falcon Heavy, na sequência dos abastecimentos que foram feitos, para assegurar que os testes de motores correm sem contratempos.
Segundo a Teslarati, os atrasos deverão ter a ver com as muito baixas temperaturas com que os combustíveis são injectados nos depósitos, provocando a contracção dos componentes metálicos do foguetão.
Como é uma máquina nova e complexa, há problemas novos que podem surgir, como por exemplo, com as estruturas que mantêm os três foguetões unidos durante a descolagem e depois durante a fase de aceleração e mais pequena falha ou erro pode causar uma catástrofe.
Além disso, o lançamento do foguetão Atlas V da United Launch Alliance que está marcado para o dia 18 do Kennedy Space Center vai também provocar mais atrasos.
Por tudo isto, e partindo do princípio que a SpaceX consegue resolver todos os problemas detectados, é improvável que os testes estáticos dos 27 motores do gigante Falcon Heavy aconteçam antes do fim de semana.
