O estranho namoro entre um buraco negro e uma estrela / The strange affair between a black hole and a star.

O NGC 3201, é um Aglomerado Globular de Estrelas, (uma das estruturas mais antigas do universo) e este em particular fica na constelação da Vela.
Os astrónomos descobriram um par solitário, uma estrela com um comportamento estranho em órbita de um buraco negro, numa relação quase pacífica, a não ser o facto de a estrela estar a ser sacudida de um lado para o outro, a uma velocidade de centenas de milhares de quilómetros por hora e com uma periodicidade de 167 dias... O buraco negro tem cerca de quatro vezes a massa do nosso Sol.
A descoberta foi feita pelo Very Large Telescope do European Southern Observatory com a ajuda do instrumento MUSE.

NGC 3201, is a Globular Star Cluster, (one of the oldest structures in the universe) and this particular one is in the constellation of Vela.
Astronomers have discovered a solitary pair, a star with a strange behavior in orbit of a black hole, in a nearly peaceful relationship, except that the star is being shaken from one side to the other, at a rate of hundreds of thousands of kilometers per hour and a periodicity of 167 days ... The black hole is about four times the mass of our Sun.
The discovery was made by the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory with the help of the MUSE instrument.
