With a diameter of 10 meters, a height between 98 and 101 meters, plus the aid of 5 gigantic lateral thrusters with a diameter of 5 meters each and the capacity to put 140 tons of cargo in low orbit, 44 tons in orbits for lunar transfer and 44 tons in orbit of transfer to Mars, Long March 9 is a rocket that reveals well the space ambition of China and the urgency that this country has in the space domain.
The new rocket will be able to fly much sooner than previously thought, by 2020, and will be the vehicle that will carry the first Chinese spacecraft to Mars, an extremely ambitious and high-risk premiere that will involve an orbital capsule, a landing module and a rover.
Another important objective of the new rocket will be the realization of manned lunar missions.
O Longa Marcha 9 vai ser um dos maiores foguetões do mundo.
Com um diâmetro de 10 metros, uma altura entre os 98 e os 101 metros, mais a ajuda de 5 gigantescos propulsores laterais com um diâmetro de 5 metros cada um e a capacidade de colocar 140 toneladas de carga em órbita baixa, 44 toneladas em órbitas para transferência lunar e 44 toneladas em órbita de transferência para Marte, o Longa Marcha 9 é um foguetão que revela bem a ambição espacial da China e a urgência que este país tem no domínio do espaço.
O novo foguetão, poderá voar bem mais cedo do que se supunha, já em 2020, e será o veiculo que transportará a primeira nave chinesa para Marte, uma estreia extremamente ambiciosa e de alto risco que envolverá uma cápsula orbital, um módulo de aterragem e um rover.
Outro importante objectivo do novo foguetão será a concretização de missões tripuladas lunares.
