Devido a um problema técnico no primeiro andar do foguetão da United Launch Alliance, o lançamento foi adiado para 15 de Novembro .

A fusão de duas gigantescas galáxias primordiais / The fusion of two gigantic primordial galaxies

Duas galáxias brilhantes e super densas do principio do universo,  em vias de fusão, foram descobertas pelo Atacama Pathfinder EXperiment (APEX) e depois "visualisadas" pelo super radiotelescópio Alma, do ESO.

Encontram-se a 12,7 biliões de anos luz e formam um par designado por ADFS-27.

A imagem que vemos é do primeiro bilião de anos depois da formação do universo.

Two super-dense, bright galaxies from the early universe were discovered by the Atacama Pathfinder EXperiment (APEX) and then "visualized" by ESO's super radio telescope Alma.

They are at a distance of 12.7 billion light years and form a pair called ADFS-27.

The image we see is of the first billion years after the formation of the universe.
