Chang'e IV, batatas na Lua em 2018 / potatoes on the moon in 2018.

Este ano, a China vai enviar para a face oculta da Lua a sonda  Chang'e IV, que além de um pequeno rover deverá incluir também um mini ecossistema com sementes de batata e de arabidopsis e larvas de insectos como o bicho da seda, para testar as hipóteses de crescimento de plantas e insectos no ambiente lunar.
Óbviamente que as sementes e os ovos estarão encerrados num recipiente de pequenas dimensões com a temperatura adequada e com luz, alimentado por baterias.

SpaceX, missão Zuma adiada de novo / Zuma mission postponed again

A misteriosa missão Zuma, que deverá lançar um satélite não identificado para o espaço foi adiada para dia 7 de Janeiro.

Crew Dragon e/and Starliner, quem chega primeiro ao espaço? / who arrives first into space?

Com o fim do Space Shuttle, os Estados Unidos e a Nasa estiveram até hoje sem capacidade para transportar os seus astronautas para o espaço e tiveram que recorrer à Rússia e às suas fiáveis Soyuz.

A situação deverá mudar brevemente com a entrada em acção da Dragon tripulada da SpaceX e da CST-100 Starliner da Boeing e a médio prazo com a Orion da própria Nasa.

Segundo o site Spaceflight Insider, o primeiro voo não tripulado da Dragon deverá acontecer em Abril e o da Starliner em Agosto, podendo haver voos tripulados da primeira em Agosto e da segunda em Novembro.

Além disso, a Blue Origin poderá também começar com voos tripulados da sua cápsula suborbital também este ano.
