ESA, Cheops, the new exoplanet hunter is ready to fly / o novo caçador de planetas está pronto para voar.

Cheops, CHaracterising ExOPlanet Satellite, the new ESA satellite developed to discover exoplanets has been declared ready to fly into space and is expected to be launched later this year from the French Guiana,  between 15 October and 14 November, aboard a Soyuz-Fregat rocket.

ISRO will launch a PSLV rocket (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) tomorrow, April 1, from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota.
In addition to the EMISAT satellite, the rocket is expected to put into orbit more than 28 satellites from several countries.

ESO, ALMA, the pains of the birth of a star / as dores do nascimento de uma estrela.

The birth, for humans and other beings, is a painful process.
At the cosmic level,  the beginning of a star, the formation of its planets from the dense disc of gases and dust left after from the violent event is only sporadically visible, a drama of fantastic dimensions, a birth whose pains are the fruit of the poetic analogy that we make with the traumatic experience of our coming into the world.
The ALMA radio telescope captured the moments after the birth of a star, the impressive jets of gases emitted from its stellar disk, from different sites and 800 years apart ...

O nascimento, para os humanos e para os restantes seres, é um processo doloroso.
A nível cósmico, a o nascimento de uma estrela, a formação dos seus planetas a partir do denso disco de gases e poeiras que sobraram do violento acontecimento, é apenas esporádicamente visível, um drama de dimensões fantásticas, um parto cujas dores são fruto da analogia poética que fazemos com a experiência traumática da nossa vinda ao mundo.
O radiotelescópio ALMA, capturou os momentos posteriores ao nascimento de uma estrela, os impressionantes jatos de gases emitidos a partir do seu fervilhante disco estelar, de sítios diferentes e com 800 anos de diferença...

ESO, SPECULOOS, the new discoverer of exoplanets / o novo descobridor de exoplanetas.

The role of the SPECULOOS Southern Observatory will be to search for new planets around dim but close stars so that they can be studied in greater detail by super telescopes such as the future ELT, the Extremely Large Telescope.
The SPECULOOS (Search for habitable ECLIPSING ULTRA-COOl Stars Planets) is located at the Paranal Observatory in Chile and consists of four robotic telescopes of the Ritchey-Chrétien type, each with a main mirror of one meter in diameter and with highly sensitive cameras to the near infrared.

A função do SPECULOOS Southern Observatory, será pesquisar novos planetas, em volta de estrelas pouco luminosas, mas próximas, para que possam se estudados com maior detalhe pelos super telescópios, como o futuro ELT,  o Extremely Large Telescope.
O SPECULOOS ( Search for habitable Planets EClipsing ULtra-cOOl Stars) situa-se no Observatório do Paranal, no Chile e é constituido por quatro telescópios robóticos do tipo  Ritchey-Chrétien, cada um com um espelho principal de um metro de diâmetro e com câmaras altamente sensíveis ao infravermelho próximo.
