Gravação molecular / Molecular recording

Pela primeira vez, um filme simples foi gravado, codificado e depois reproduzido a partir do DNA em células vivas.
Os cientistas do National Institutes of Health, afirmam que foi dado um passo para a criação de um "gravador molecular " que um dia poderá permitir leituras das mudanças dos estados internos dos neurónios em desenvolvimento e que a capacidade para gravar eventos sequenciais, como um filme, a nível molecular, é a chave para reinventar o conceito de gravação com a ajuda da engenharia molecular.
Segundo este conceito, as próprias células podem ser induzidas a gravar eventos tais como variações nos genes ao longo do tempo.

For the first time, a single film was recorded, encoded and then reproduced from the DNA in living cells.
Scientists at the National Institutes of Health claim that a step was taken to create a "molecular recorder" that could one day allow readings of changes in internal states of developing neurons and that the ability to record sequential events such as a movie , at  molecular level, is the key to reinventing the concept of recording with the help of molecular engineering.
According to this concept, the cells themselves may be induced to record events such as variations in the genes over time.
