Antares, em alta definição / in high definition

Antares é uma estrela gigantesca que fica na constelação do Escorpião a 620 anos-luz da terra.
Tem um diâmetro 700 vezes maior do que o sol e a sua massa é 12 vezes a da nossa estrela.
É um astro moribundo agora estudado e revelado em toda a sua grandeza pelo VLTI ( Very Large Telescope Interferometer ) da ESO ( European Southern Observatory's ) com o auxílio de um poderoso e sofisticado instrumento, o AMBER ( Astronomical Multi-BEam combineR ).
É a imagem mais completa e detalhada de uma estrela, além do sol.

Antares is a monstruous star of the Scorpio constellation  at a distance of 620 light-years from Earth.
It has a diameter 700 times greater than the sun and its mass is 12 times that of our star.
Is a dying star now studied and revealed in all its grandeur by ESO's Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) with the aid of a powerful and sophisticated instrument, AMBER (Astronomical Multi-BEam combineR).
It is the most complete and detailed image of a star, besides the sun.
