Euclid, um telescópio espacial, muito especial... / Euclid, a very special space telescope...

Euclid, é uma missão da ESA, prevista para durar seis anos, um telescópio espacial, que vai pesquisar a energia e matéria negras e cujo lançamento está previsto para 2020.
Vai mapear em três dimensões a distribuição de cerca de dois biliões de galáxias e matéria negra envolvente ( supomos... ) e tentar responder a questões como a origem e expansão do universo e a velocidade com que o faz.
A sonda será constituída por um telescópio com um espelho de 1,2 metros de diâmetro, uma câmara de comprimento de onda visível e uma uma câmara/espectrómetro de infravermelho próximo.
Orbitará em torno do sol, no Ponto de Lagrange L2.

Euclid, is an ESA mission, scheduled to last for six years, a space telescope, which will research energy and black matter and whose launch is scheduled for 2020.
It will map in three dimensions the distribution of about two billion galaxies and surrounding black matter (we suppose ...) and try to answer questions such as the origin and expansion of the universe and its speed.
The probe will consist of a telescope with a mirror 1.2 meters in diameter, a visible wavelength camera and a near infrared camera / spectrometer.
It will orbit around the sun at Lagrange Point L2.
