Com o regresso anunciado pela Nasa às grandes missões lunares, há várias empresas interessadas em participar nesse projecto com o agência americana.
A  Blue Origin está a desenvolver um módulo lunar, o Blue Moon, com capacidade para transportar várias toneladas de carga para a superfície daquele satélite.

No entanto, há mais três empresas que estão a participar no programa da Nasa "Lunar Cargo Transportation and Landing by Soft Touchdown " ou Catalyst.
A  Astrobotic, a Moon Express e a Masten Space Systems estão a desenvolver módulos lunares e a primeira anunciou que o seu módulo  Peregrine Lunar Lander será lançado pela United Launch Alliance (ULA) num foguetão Atlas V em 2019.
É notória a agressividade da ULA nestas parcerias, com a Bigelow Aerospace e agora com a Astrobotic...
