Chandra X-ray Observatory, plunges into the Eagle Nebula and the Pillars of Creation / mergulha na Nebulosa da Águia e nos Pilares da Criação.

The Chandra X-ray Observatory is responsible for major discoveries by studying cosmic X-ray sources and by stunning images in which the images obtained are associated with others captured in visible or infrared light.
Scientists studying the Eagle Nebula used Chandra X-ray images and infrared images from the Spitzer Space Telescope and the European Southern Observatory to identify 1,183 young or emerging stars, of which 219 are stars surrounded by gas disks and dust that emit less X-rays than the remaining 964 that are not immersed in such disks (X-rays are emitted from the extremely hot exterior of the young stellar atmospheres).
The scientists also concluded that many of the X-ray sources that appear to be embedded in the so-called Pillars of Creation are stars of the Eagle Nebula but are far away from the fabulous Pillars.

O Chandra X-ray Observatory (NASA) é responsável por grandes descobertas, ao estudar as fontes cósmicas de raios X e por imagens espantosas em que as imagens obtidas são associadas a outras captadas em luz visível ou em infravermelhos.
Cientistas que estudaram a Nebulosa da Águia, usaram as imagens de raios X do Chandra, e imagens de infravermelhos do Telescópio Espacial Spitzer (NASA) e do Observatório Europeu do Sul para identificarem 1,183 estrelas jovens ou em formação, das quais 219 são estrelas rodeadas por discos de gás e poeira e que emitem menos raios X do que as restantes 964 que não estão imersas em discos (os raios X são emitidos pelo exterior extremamente quente das jovens atmosferas estelares).
Os cientistas concluíram também que muitas das fontes de raios X que parecem estar inseridas nos chamados Pilares da Criação são estrelas da Nebulosa da Águia mas que ficam fora e longe dos fabulosos Pilares.
