Dez anos de registos do brilho da estrela de Boyajian / Ten years of Boyajian star brightness records

Ao contrário do que se pensava, depois de compilados os registos de dez anos, nem só de diminuições de brilho se faz a história da KIC8462852, conhecida como estrela de Boyajian.

Contrary to what was thought, after compiling the ten year records, the story of KIC8462852, known as the Boyajian star,  is not made only of decreases but also of brightness increases.

Euclid, um telescópio espacial, muito especial... / Euclid, a very special space telescope...

Euclid, é uma missão da ESA, prevista para durar seis anos, um telescópio espacial, que vai pesquisar a energia e matéria negras e cujo lançamento está previsto para 2020.
Vai mapear em três dimensões a distribuição de cerca de dois biliões de galáxias e matéria negra envolvente ( supomos... ) e tentar responder a questões como a origem e expansão do universo e a velocidade com que o faz.
A sonda será constituída por um telescópio com um espelho de 1,2 metros de diâmetro, uma câmara de comprimento de onda visível e uma uma câmara/espectrómetro de infravermelho próximo.
Orbitará em torno do sol, no Ponto de Lagrange L2.

Euclid, is an ESA mission, scheduled to last for six years, a space telescope, which will research energy and black matter and whose launch is scheduled for 2020.
It will map in three dimensions the distribution of about two billion galaxies and surrounding black matter (we suppose ...) and try to answer questions such as the origin and expansion of the universe and its speed.
The probe will consist of a telescope with a mirror 1.2 meters in diameter, a visible wavelength camera and a near infrared camera / spectrometer.
It will orbit around the sun at Lagrange Point L2.

Super telescópios / Super telescopes - The Large Binocular Telescope Observatory

O LBTO,  Large Binocular Telescope Observatory, situa-se no Arizona, no Emerald Peak, a 3200 metros de altitude.
É constituído por dois telescópios idênticos, com espelhos principais de 8,4 metros, montados lado a lado e cujos centros distam um do outro 14,4 metros, resultando num interferómetro com 22,8 metros, que poderá rivalizar com alguns dos maiores gigantes em construção.
Beneficia de ópticas adaptativas, isto é, tem espelhos secundários capazes de corrigir as alterações causadas pela atmosfera da terra.

The LBTO, Large Binocular Telescope Observatory, is located in Arizona, at Emerald Peak, at an altitude of 3200 meters.
It consists of two identical telescopes with 8.4-meter main mirrors mounted side-by-side and whose centers are 14.4 meters apart, resulting in a 22.8-meter interferometer that may rival some of the largest giants under construction.
It benefits from adaptive optics, that is, it has secondary mirrors capable of correcting the changes caused by the Earth's atmosphere.
