The analysis of the data collected by the European Mars Express spacecraft during the first 20 months of the NASA Curiosity rover mission, confirmed the exceptional detection of methane done at the time by the young robot in the Gale crater area.
It is the first time that the detection carried out by the rover on  June 2013 is confirmed by an external source, in this case the ESA orbiter.
Orbiting Mars, there is also another ESA and Roscosmos probe with the purpose of deepening the knowledge about methane emission, the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO).
The emission of methane is probably associated with geological events and tectonic activity, but it may also, and this is where everything becomes more exciting, be of organic origin ...

A análise de dados da sonda europeia Mars Express, recolhidos durante os primeiros 20 meses da missão do rover Curiosity da NASA, vieram confirmar a detecção excepcional de metano efectuada na altura pelo jovem robot, na zona da cratera Gale.
É a primeira vez, que a detecção efectuada pelo rover, em 15 e Junho de 2013, é confirmada por uma fonte externa, neste caso a nave orbital da ESA.
Em órbita do planeta, está também outra sonda da ESA e da Roscosmos, com o propósito de aprofundar o conhecimento sobre a emissão de metano, a ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter ( TGO)
A emissão de metano, deve, provávelmente, estar associada a acontecimentos geológicos e à actividade tecnónica, mas poderá também, e é aqui que tudo se torna mais excitante, ter origem orgânica...

On 10 April in Belgium, the European Commission, the European Research Council and the EHT (Event Horizon Telescope ) will announce the results of the campaign which took place in April 2017 and brought together eight astronomical radio observatories to visualize the surroundings of the event horizon of two black holes, the Sagittarius A * that hides in the center of the Milky Way and a colossus that feeds its voracity into the core of the M87 galaxy.

No dia 10 de Abril, na Bélgica, a Comissão Europeia, o Conselho Europeu de Investigação e o EHT (  Event Horizon Telescope ) irão apresentar os resultados da campanha que ocorreu em Abril de 2017 e que reuniu oito observatórios de radioastronómicos, com o propósito de visualizar as imediações do horizonte de eventos de dois buracos negros, o Sagittarius A* que se esconde no centro da Via Láctea e um colosso que alimenta a sua voracidade no núcleo da galáxia M87.

ESA, Cheops, the new exoplanet hunter is ready to fly / o novo caçador de planetas está pronto para voar.

Cheops, CHaracterising ExOPlanet Satellite, the new ESA satellite developed to discover exoplanets has been declared ready to fly into space and is expected to be launched later this year from the French Guiana,  between 15 October and 14 November, aboard a Soyuz-Fregat rocket.
