The Subaru Telescope, which works with visible and infrared light, was built on the Mauna Kea mountain in Hawaii, 4.200 meters above the sea level,  by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) and began operating in January 1999.

Subsequently, the Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) was added, a gigantic high definition camera that saw the first light in 2012.

O Subaru Telescope, que trabalha com luz visível e infravermelhos, foi construído na montanha do Mauna Kea, no Hawaii, a 4.200 metros de altitude pelo  NAOJ, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan e começou a funcionar em Janeiro de 1999. 

Posteriormente, foi adicionada a Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC), uma camara gigantesca de alta definição que viu a primeira luz em 2012.
