Proxima b, a good planet for barbecues .. / um bom planeta para churrascos...

Not good news for those who expected Proxima b to be a second Earth.
The ALMA radio telescope, Atacama Large Millimeter / submillimeter Array, which is part of ESO's astronomical network, detected a gigantic explosion in the star Proxima Centauri, ten times brighter than those of our sun.
According to the scientists who studied the data recorded by the observatory in March 2017, this type of explosion, occurring regularly throughout the life of the planet must have evaporated all the water and sterilized the surface.

Não é uma boa notícia para quem esperava que Proxima b fosse uma segunda Terra.
O radiotelescópio ALMA, Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, que faz parte da rede astronómica do  ESO, detectou uma gigantesca explosão na estrela Proxima Centauri, dez vezes mais brilhante do que as verificadas no nosso sol.
Segundo os cientistas que estudaram os dados registados pelo observatório em Março de 2017, este tipo de explosão, a verificar-se regularmente ao longo da vida do planeta deve ter evaporado toda a água à superfície e esterilizado o planeta.
