NASA, New Horizons, 12 days left for another fantastic mission / faltam 12 dias para mais uma fantástica missão.

New Horizons, the NASA probe that revealed the splendor of Plutoto the world, is about to reach Ultima Thule (2014 MU69), which will be the farthest object of the solar system to be visited by a spaceship.
Ultima Thule is a small irregular world, a large Kuiper Belt asteroid, which is not yet known whether it is a single object or a binary system and will be photographed and analyzed by New Horizons during a brief passage on 1 January 2019.
NASA's spacecraft will pass by the asteroid at great speed, and will have very little time to photograph it, but nevertheless spectacular images are expected.

New Horizons, a sonda da NASA que revelou ao mundo o esplendor de Plutão, está quase a chegar a
Ultima Thule ( 2014 MU69 ), que será o mais distante objecto do sistema solar a ser visitado por uma nave.
Ultima Thule é um pequeno mundo irregular, um grande asteróide da Cintura de Kuiper, que não se sabe ainda se é um único objecto ou um sistema binário e que será fotografado e analisado pela New Horizons, durante uma breve passagem, em 1 de Janeiro de 2019.
A sonda da NASA passará pelo asteróide a grande velocidade, e terá muito pouco tempo para o fotografar, mas mesmo assim esperam-se imagens espectaculares.

Better late than never, Neil deGrasse Tyson recognizes the value of Elon Musk / Mais vale tarde do que nunca, Neil deGrasse Tyson reconhece o valor de Elon Musk

Millions of people admire Elon Musk because of the revolution he's driving on Earth with Tesla and the electrification of automobiles, with Boring and the high-speed  tunnels and space with his unstoppable SpaceX.
Elon Musk captivates people first because he is a normal, ordinary human being like you and me and then because he is a dreamer and an adventurer. Frankly, Elon may be very rich, but I do not believe that it's the money that makes him run, but the dream and his desire to get away, literally far away.
Elon Musk has also had many critics, some by pure envy and others because they can not follow or understand what he is doing.
Neil deGrasse Tyson was one of those critics and in an interview with The Verge in 2015 he said that "The illusion is to think that SpaceX will lead the space frontier" and explained that because of the costs, the risks involved and the lack of financial return this would never happen.
Now, Neil deGrasse Tyson recognizes Elon Musk as the man who is leading humanity through new paths and told it on a CNBC show, "make it."
It is a case to say that it is better late than never and I am very pleased to see an astrophysicist and communicator as important as him to change his mind and to recognize the value of Elon Musk.

Milhões de pessoas admiram Elon Musk, por causa da revolução que está a conduzir na Terra, com a Tesla e a electrificação dos automóveis, com a Boring e os túneis de alta velocidade e no espaço com a sua imparável SpaceX.
Elon Musk cativa as pessoas, primeiro, porque é um ser humano normal, comum, como eu e você e depois porque é um sonhador e um aventureiro. Sinceramente, Elon poderá estar muito rico, mas não acredito que seja o dinheiro que o faz correr, mas sim o sonho e o seu desejo de ir longe, literalmente muito longe.
Elon Musk tem tido também muitos críticos, uns por pura inveja e outros porque não conseguem acompanhar nem entender aquilo que ele está a fazer.
Neil deGrasse Tyson ainda há relativamente pouco tempo era um desses críticos e numa entrevista à The Verge em 2015 dizia que " A ilusão é pensar que a SpaceX vai liderar a fronteira espacial" e explicava que por causa dos custos, dos riscos envolvidos e da falta de retorno financeiro isso nunca iria acontecer.
Agora, Neil deGrasse Tyson reconhece Elon Musk como o homem que está a conduzir a humanidade por novos caminhos e disse-o num programa da CNBC, o "make it".
É caso para dizer que mais vale tarde do que nunca e fico muito satisfeito por ver um astrofísico e comunicador tão importante como ele a mudar de ideias e a reconhecer o valor de Elon Musk.
