A Índia lançou 31 satélites ( um Cartosast-2 e 30 pequenos satélites, entre os quais um CubeSat francês, o PicSat, que irá vigiar exclusivamente o sistema Beta Pictoris )
O lançamento foi feito por um foguetão indiano, o PSLV, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.

SpaceX, Falcon Heavy, à espera dos testes críticos / waiting for critical tests.

Segundo o site Teslarati os testes estáticos de motores não ocorreram ontem, porque, depois de uma operação de abastecimento que correu bem, foram detectados problemas na rampa de lançamento, com uma das oito peças que prendem o foguetão ao solo. 

Esses testes são críticos, porque os 27 motores têm de trabalhar em uníssono e são a única hipótese de detectar eventuais problemas, antes do voo inaugural que deve acontecer ainda este mês.

Ainda por cima, Elon Musk admitiu há meses atrás, que muita coisa pode correr mal com este lançamento, pelo que, todo o cuidado é pouco...

Na Alemanha, em Mainz, a empresa SCHOTT começou a fundir os primeiros 6 dos 798 segmentos que constituirão o espelho principal de 39 metros. No total, serão construídos 900 hexágonos com 1,4 metros de largura e 5 centímetros de espessura, dos quais 133 serão de reserva.

A SCHOTT vai fundir em média um segmento por dia. O acabamento, formato e polimento serão feitos pela empresa francesa Safran Reosc.

Falcon Heavy, testes estáticos de motores em breve / static engine testing soon

Se tudo correr bem, nomeadamente os testes de abastecimento de combustível, assistiremos brevemente aos testes estáticos dos 27 motores em simultâneo, a fase mais crítica antes do lançamento.
Pela fotografia que pode ver em baixo, publicada pelo site Teslarati, dentro de poucos dias saberemos se a SpaceX vai avançar com o voo inaugural do tão esperado Falcon Heavy.

Dream Chaser, o menino da Sierra Nevada / the little boy from the Sierra Nevada.

Parece um shuttle e é de facto. Mas muito mais pequeno do que o Space Shuttle e com grandes aspirações.
O Dream Chaser passou mais um teste importante, em Novembro do ano passado e caminha a passos largos para a certificação como transporte de pessoas e carga para o espaço, nomeadamente a EEI e deverá estar operacional no princípio da próxima década.
Mais um exemplo da extraordinária vitalidade do sector privado espacial norte americano.
